The Winners of “Connected Women: Digital Marketing Campaign” Competition Announced
The results of the Digital Marketing Campaign Competition, organized for the third time this year as part of the “Connected Women” Project implemented by the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning under the Ministry of National Education and Vodafone Foundation, have been announced. In the competition, where participants’ skills in managing social media accounts were evaluated, Mine Kılıçlı placed first, Mine Batı second, and Kevser Dal third. Safiye Kurt and Meryem Sahan Kiliç were awarded the Jury Special Award.
The “Connected Women” Project competition, organized by the General Directorate for Lifelong Learning under the Ministry of National Education, and Vodafone Foundation has come to an end,highlighting the power of technology in empowering women The project, aimed at enhancing the digital skills for women over 18, has announced the results of its third annual Digital Marketing Campaign Competition, for women who completed the “Digital Marketing” training.
In the competition, which had received 73 applications, 38 participants managed the social media accounts of their businesses or businesses of their choice for a month. While Mine Kilicli from Antalya Manavgat Public Education Center won first place with the management of her Instagram account named “minekiliclihandmade”, on which she produced and shared eco-friendly products with herbal knitting; Mine Bati from Istanbul Bostancı Public Education Center came second with her İnstagram account named “art_byminee”, on which she marketed her ceramic products, and Kevser Dal from Bursa Orhangazi Public Education Center came third with her account “kevser_dall”, on which amigurumi products were featured. Furthermore, Safiye Kurt from Van Caldiran Public Education Center received the Special Jury Award with her İnstagram account “safiyenin.renk.dunyasi” and Meryem Sahan Kiliç from Antalya Camlibel Public Education Center received the Special Jury Award with her Instagram account “ceyizim_sanduka”.
The top three received 32,500 TL of lifeline capital to grow their businesses, while the Jury Special Award winners were awarded 6,000 TL worth of technology gift cards.
Cengiz Mete, Director General for Lifelong Learning under the Ministry of National Education, stated the following:
“As the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning under the Ministry of National Education, we strive to promote education and training in a life-long approach. So, we continue our efforts to support everyone in our society through lifelong education, embracing diverse skills, education levels, and cultures, all united bythe common goal of self-improvement. The ‘Connected Women’ Project is a project that we have launched for this purpose, aiming to empower women - a disadvantaged group in access to technology in digital development. We are delighted to have trained tens of thousands of women so far with our project trainings, which will be completed for the third period this year and have been ongoing since December 2020. We also provide women trainees with the opportunity to put the knowledge they have acquired in the trainings into practice with the Digital Marketing Campaign Competition organized as part of the project. We congratulate all our trainees, award winners and trainers who participated in the competition where trainings turned into practice, and we would like to state that we will continue our efforts to create a lifelong learning Türkiye.”
Hasan Süel, the Chair of Vodafone Turkey Foundation, made the following remarks:
“As Vodafone Foundation, we believe everything we do should serve a purpose. Our aim with the ‘Connected Women’ Project is to improve women's digital competencies and involve them in business life. Women participating in our project have a considerable advantage thanks to the trainings they receive on adaptation to the digital world and employment opportunities. We organized a Digital Marketing Campaign Competition among women trainees who completed the 44-hour ‘Digital Marketing’ training as part of the project. 73 applications were received for our competition, which we organized for the third time this year. As a result of the preliminary evaluation, 38 women were found eligible to participate. Our participants managed the social media accounts of their businesses or a business of their choice for one month. The jury evaluated these efforts, and the winners were announced. We congratulate our competitors and wish them continued success. At Vodafone Foundation, we remain committed to improving women’s lives by harnessing the power of digital technologies. .”
15 training containers established in the earthquake zone
The “Connected Women” Project is designed to unlock women's digitalization potential through different training programs. Under the project, women trainees receive 30 hours of “Digital Literacy” and 44 hours of “Digital Marketing” training. While some of these trainings are delivered face-to-face in the classes at public education centers affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, some of them are offered through online training via the Distance Education Platform of the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning under the Ministry of National Education. Face-to-face trainings are provided at public education centers in İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Bursa, Antalya, Samsun, Afyonkarahisar, Elazig, Sivas, Agri, Kastamonu, Gaziantep, Manisa, Hatay, Mersin, Tekirdag, Trabzon, Eskisehir, Van, and Diyarbakir. As part of the project, 15 training containers were set up in Kahramanmaras, Hatay, and Adiyaman to support women in the earthquake zone.
