“Coding Tomorrow” Brings Young People Together with Artificial Intelligence

“CODING TOMORROW” OPENS THE SECOND CLUBHOUSE AI CLASS

Vodafone Turkey Foundation and Habitat Association’s joint project “Coding Tomorrow” keeps bringing young people together with AI, the future technology. The 2nd AI class was opened at Bahcesehir University as a part of the collaboration with The Clubhouse Network, one of the world’s largest education platforms. This class will train young people in areas such as AI, data processing, machine learning, software, and robotics.

Launched by Vodafone Turkey Foundation and Habitat Association, the “Coding Tomorrow” project continues to equip young people for the digital future. As part of the project, more than 6 thousand young people have received artificial intelligence (AI) training in the last 3 years in cooperation with The Clubhouse Network, one of the world’s largest education platforms. In line with this collaboration, the second AI training class was opened at Beşiktaş Campus, Bahcesehir University. It will be open 4 days a week and high school students will receive training in areas such as AI, data processing, machine learning, software, and robotics. Moreover, various trainings and workshops on AI and technology will also be organized for university students.

Regarding the collaboration with The Clubhouse Network, Hasan Süel, the Chair of Vodafone Turkey Foundation, stated:

“AI technologies affect almost every field of production and as such have the potential to drive significant added value. According to the Global AI Impact Index, AI is estimated to reach a share of approximately $16 trillion in the world economy by 2030. We attach great value to the education of young people in our country on AI, which we believe will have a major impact on shaping our near future. Our mission is to draw the attention of young generations to coding and software, to help them become technologically well-equipped, and to enable them to combine their creative ideas with new technologies by learning and using the AI technology that we now see in almost any field. Three years ago, we collaborated with The Clubhouse Network, one of the world’s largest education platforms, to provide AI training to young people from 14 to 17 years old. We are pleased to open our second Clubhouse AI class at Bahcesehir University this year. Together with a few pilot studies, we aim to expand AI trainings to vocational high schools and increase the digital competencies of especially employable young people. We will continue to increase the impact of this program through both global and local collaborations.”

Giving an overview of the training class opened at Beşiktaş Campus, Bahcesehir University, Sezai Hazır, the Board Chair of Habitat Association, expressed his views:

“In keeping with the spirit of The Clubhouse, we provide a class environment for young people to fully express their ideas and projects in today’s dynamic and ever-evolving technologies. We organize trainings for high school students in AI, data processing, machine learning, and such. We also boost their self-confidence in software and robotics by providing them with the opportunity to foster their creativity. Also, we help them build strong self-discipline by supporting their teamwork skills. We seek to increase their in-depth understanding of abstract concepts by making these concepts concrete through virtual reality workshops. Through simulations and hands-on experience, we provide students with real-world examples to support their learning process. Young people have the opportunity to interact with each other in music, art, and photography workshops. This class is an opportunity for students to discover their own talents, build experience in technology, and develop innovative projects. Our ambition is to provide the participants of our class with an unlimited space for technology and creativity, enabling them to discover their potential at the highest level and encouraging them to progress in this field.”

Support to 25 thousand young people a year

The Clubhouse Network is an after-school learning hub for young people aged 14-17 from underserved groups around the world. Committed to providing a creative and safe out-of-school learning environment where young people work with adult mentors to explore their own ideas, develop new skills, and build confidence through technology, Clubhouse classes offer an inclusive and youth-friendly environment where young people can explore and work on creative and entertaining techniques and technologies at their convenience. The Clubhouse Network community of more than 100 Clubhouses in 19 countries provides 25,000 young people a year with access to the resources, skills, and learning experiences that will help them succeed in their careers, contribute to their communities, and lead their lives.

Training with mentors

In the Clubhouse class opened at Bahcesehir University, AI trainings, coding and robotics trainings, virtual reality workshops, 3D video and animation design workshops, and music, art, and photography workshops will be organized for students as part of the Coding Tomorrow project. While trainings for high school students will continue 4 days a week in the class, where young people can continuously improve themselves with mentors, there will also be various AI and technology trainings for university students. Moreover, wider activities will be organized in cooperation with student clubs at universities.

Open to all

The new Clubhouse class welcomes all young people who are curious and eager to learn about AI. Applications for the trainings can be made at https://yarinikodlayanlar.com/ . Weekly programs will be prepared after evaluating the applications. Students from other universities will also be able to benefit from the trainings. The goal is to create an environment for young people from different backgrounds to exchange ideas and learn together.
